MRI uses a magnetic field and radio waves to produce detailed images of organs and soft tissue, without X-ray exposure. Centre Mandela offers this exam for all common indications.

Brain and spinal cord Spine Joints (knee, shoulder, hip) Abdomen and pelvis MR angiography (vessels)

What to expect during the exam

Checking for contraindications (metal implants, pacemaker, etc.)

Positioning on the exam table

Contrast agent injection if needed

Image acquisition (15 to 45 minutes depending on the area)

Report delivery

Good to know before the exam

It is recommended to remove all metal objects and report any implants (pacemaker, prosthesis, clips) before the exam. MRI can be noisy; hearing protection is provided.
